If you want to accomplish something, do it slowly

Haste makes waste.

Everyone knows this sentence, but when it comes to actually doing things, they will completely forget it. Because human nature always wants to see results quickly.

If you want to accomplish something, you have to restrain your instinct to be impatient and tell yourself to slow down.

The human brain can be persuaded, as long as there is a good reason:

1. Step-by-step is the way to get things done.

Everything in nature follows the law of step-by-step: spring growth, summer growth, autumn harvest, and winter storage. Seeds will germinate, flowers will bloom, and fruits will mature.

People do things the same way.

However, many people do not consider the rules when doing things. The result is that things come and go quickly.

Only things that are done step by step and slowly can be lasting and stable.

Step-by-step means that for things that can be accomplished, every step must be developed in place, steadily and step by step. The speed is not fast, but it is unstoppable.

2. The path to success is a curve.

Although a straight line is the shortest between two points, 99.99% of the roads in the world are curves.

This is nature, Tao follows nature, and the path to accomplishing things is also a curve.

When we do things, we can’t do it without just one step.

There are always ups and downs, highs and lows, setbacks, iterations, corrections, and improvements before you can get things done.

The curve happens to be the process of running in. You can avoid mistakes in the early stage by running in, and there will be no big mistakes in the later stage. Don’t be afraid that good things will take a long time.

When I was working on self-media, I made a small mistake in the early stage, but I didn’t realize it. Later, when I was harvesting the results, the mistake magnified and thundered, causing two accounts to be blocked.

If I can correct that mistake in the early stage of running in, then my income in the later stage should be half as much as what I am now.

no way. One wrong step, every wrong step, cannot be undone. Think of it as spending money to buy lessons.

3. Slow down, be steady, and be ruthless.

Slowness is not Buddhist, let alone Moji.

Instead, stay patient, don’t be impatient, and choose the most appropriate method and approach through repeated exploration and verification.

As long as you’re going the right way, it doesn’t matter if you go slow.

Some people walk very fast, but halfway through, they find something is wrong and go back to correct it, which makes them even slower.

In the initial stage of doing things, the competition is about who can be more perfect.

In the advanced stage of doing things, it is more about who makes fewer mistakes.

When A and B compete for the championship, as long as one of them makes a mistake, the other will be the champion.

You don’t need to compete for the championship, you just need to persist and wait until your opponent stumbles, and then you will be the champion.

4. The unity of knowledge and action can be trained.

99% of people know that 90% of people can’t do it. The integration of knowledge and action is an ability that can be trained.

For example, I know that it is better to go to bed early and get up early, but sometimes when I am tired or stay up late, I cannot get up early the next day.

I will train again and again. If I can’t do it this time, I will try again next time and never give up. I have been training on and off for several years, and now I can integrate knowledge and action.

I get up at 5 o’clock, walk the dog first, and then ride to the park to exercise.

Someone asked for directions on the road, and I didn’t know it, but I took out the map on my phone to help her look it up. She said, you are so young and you go to the park to exercise?

In my impression, those who went to the park so early were all old men and women who couldn’t sleep.

I am very happy. Through the unity of knowledge and action, I have overcome my laziness and developed positive and positive living habits.

For others, getting up at 5 o’clock is very difficult. For me, it was also very difficult in the past few years. It happened over and over again. Once I broke through the threshold of inertia and developed new habits, it is now easy.
