Short stories about doing business, business experience in short stories

In the building materials market, two stores sell ceramic tiles at the same time. One family is deserted, while the other is bustling with people.

Martin wanted to renovate the toilet in his work unit and decided to purchase a batch of tiles from the building materials market. When Martin came to the building materials market, he looked around and walked into a tile store. Except for the proprietress, there was no one else in the store.

Martin looked left and right, and he fell in love with one of the tiles, and asked the proprietress: “Can I bring a sample back to the company for the leader to take a look at and then decide whether to buy it or not?”

The proprietress raised her eyelids and said: “We don’t have this rule in our store. If you want to take a piece with you, you have to pay first before you are allowed to take a piece away.”

Martin was in a dilemma, scratched the back of his head, and walked out of the store. Then he went in and asked the proprietress where the partition door seller was. The proprietress said coldly: “Go out and ask around.”

He came to another store selling tiles. From a distance, he saw that the store was crowded inside and outside. Several cars were parked at the door, and people were coming in and out to move tiles to the cars.

Martin walked in and immediately saw the kind of tiles he had just photographed. He asked the boss how much they cost, and the boss happily quoted the price. When Martin heard that the price was lower than the price quoted by the other shop just now, he felt a rush in his heart. Overjoyed, Martin then asked if he could take a piece of it back to the company for his boss to review, and the boss happily said yes.

Martin said he was a foreigner, and the boss said: “It doesn’t matter. Doing business depends on integrity. I treated you with integrity, and I believe you will treat me with integrity.”

Martin admired it in his heart, and he thought: Even if the leader does not use these tiles in the future, I will have to take the time to send them back all the way.

After reading the tiles, Martin asked the boss where the partition door seller was nearby. The boss enthusiastically took out a business card and gave it to Martin and said, “This is the business card of a friend who sells partition doors. You can look for it at this address. There is his phone number on it. You can call him and ask him to send someone to pick you up and take a look. “Thank you very much.”
